Uppingham and Wing Parish elections
A vacancy has occurred in the office of Councillor in the Uppingham Parish Council and two vacancies in the office of Councillor in the Wing Parish Council. Elections will take place on for Councillors for these parishes on Thursday 6th May 2021 at the same time those for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicestershire. To be able to vote in the 6 May 2021 election, you must register by midnight on Monday 19 April 2021:
Moved house? You'll need to register to vote at your new address - even if you've moved within Rutland
To vote in the 6 May 2021 election by postal vote, we must receive your application by 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021.
You need to apply for and appoint your proxy before they can apply to vote by post.
Your postal proxy must then register to vote by post before the 20 April deadline, so make sure you allow enough time for this - download application form for proxy to vote by post
If we receive your application before 5pm on 8 April 2021, we will send your postal vote on 16 April 2021.
If we receive your application after 5pm on 8 April 2021, we will send your postal vote on 26 April 2021.
From 29 April 2021, contact us if your postal vote:
- is lost
- is damaged - you'll need to return this and bring proof of your identity when you collect the replacement
- has been stolen
- has not arrived
To cancel your postal vote, you must contact us by 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021, or you will not be able to vote at your polling station.
The Royal Mail have requested we make you aware that there are priority Post Boxes having later collection times. Originally introduced to help with the collection and onward delivery of Covid Test Kits, they are also available to Elections which are also classed as priority mail. Many have collection times between 15:00 and 17:00 on both Saturday and Sunday. You can find further details on the Royal Mail website at this link www.royalmail.com/priority-postboxes which will tell you where you can find a priority box in your area.
To vote in the 6 May 2021 election by proxy vote, we must receive your application by 5pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021.
To change or cancel your proxy vote must do so by 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021 or they will not be able to vote at a polling station.
