Polling districts, places and stations reviews
2023 Review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations
We must review polling districts, places and stations to comply with the Electoral Registrations and Administration Act (2013).
A polling district is a geographical sub-division of an electoral area. All the Wards within the county of Rutland are divided into polling districts, and these form the basis upon which the register of electors is produced
A polling district is a geographical subdivision of a electoral area. All Rutland wards are divided into polling districts - these form the basis of the register of electors.
A polling place is the geographical area in which a polling station is located.
A polling station station is the building where the process of voting takes place - usually within the designated polling place.

Review to change the polling place and polling station for Stretton and Thistleton polling districts - February 2023
There was a review to change the polling place and polling station for the Stretton and Thistleton polling districts from the Jackson Stops public house to the Stretton Community Hub, St Nicholas Church, Stretton LE15 7QR.
Both polling districts are in the county ward of Greetham.
The review will take place from 8 February 2023 until 22 February 2023.
This is an interim review, before the next compulsory review of polling districts, places and stations starts on 1 October 2023.
The reason for the change is to move the polling place to a more suitable venue for voting as the current polling station is in a public house. The new polling place would be the Stretton Community Hub in St Nicholas Church in Stretton. The polling station would be in the Community Hub main hall.
The outcome of the review will be published on this page shortly after the closing date.
