Cemetery fees and charges
These charges apply throughout the 2023-24 financial year.
Fees for Rutland residents
To qualify to pay the resident's exclusive right of burial fee, you must either:
- be a Rutland resident
- be the next of kin of the deceased, and the deceased was Rutland resident
To qualify for resident burial fees, the deceased must have been either:
- a Rutland resident on the day they died
- the owner of the exclusive right of burial and was a Rutland resident at the time of purchase
- was previously a Rutland resident but had been in residential care outside the county (institutional care or being cared for by relatives) for less than five years
Non-resident fees
If you do not meet the 'Fees for Rutland residents' criteria, fees payable for the grant of exclusive burial rights and interment fees will be doubled.
Interment charges
Charges include an amount for the grave preparation and an administrative charge.
For the interment of:
- the body of a stillborn child or child aged under 18: no charge
- the body of a person aged over 17 when they died: £1,111
- cremated remains: £387
- a depth exceeding five feet (additional charge): £160
Exclusive rights of burial in earthen graves
- for a child (person aged under 18): £164
- single grave up to five feet in depth: £2,567
Fees and charges for monuments, gravestones and monumental inscriptions
For the first inscription:
- flat stone on a single grave: £331
- flat stone on a double grave: £459
- headstone or footstone not exceeding three feet in height on a single grave: £331
- headstone or footstone not exceeding three feet in height on a double grave: £459
- kerb or border stones on a single grave: £331
- kerb or border stones on a double grave: £459
- vase not exceeding 12 inches in height: £90
- vase exceeding 12 inches in height - £99
- tablet on any grave, gardens of remembrance or in the chapel (to include a vase in the gardens of remembrance): £90
- any other monument not exceeding two feet in height on a single grave: £125
- any other monument not exceeding two feet in height on a double grave:£221
- charge for additional inscriptions: £79
- charge for placing a vase not exceeding 12 inches on a grave without exclusive right of burial: £79
Reservation of burial and cremation plots
- for the next available plot: £100
- for a chosen plot: £123
