Where to find tender opportunities

We do not advertise opportunities for goods or services valued below £50,000 per annum. In these cases, we simply invite quotations directly from potential bidders, in accordance with our Contract Procedure Rules.  The relevant Service Manager is responsible for deciding who shall be invited to quote.

All contracts with a value above £50,000 per annum will be published on one or more of the following national/local portals:

Any contract opportunity that’s total value exceeds the current UK Procurement Thresholds will be published on the UK's e-notification service Find a Tender in addition to the two national/local portals detailed above:

With effect from 1 January 2021, the UK's new e-notification service Find a Tender has replaced the Official Journal of European Union (OJEU)/Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) for publishing any contract opportunity that's value exceeds the relevant UK Procurement Thresholds. From 1 January 2022 onwards these thresholds are:

  • Goods & Service Contracts: £177,897
  • Works Contracts: £4,447,447
  • Light Touch Regime for Health/Social Services: £552,950

You can find opportunities to tender for public contracts by registering your company on the relevant procurement portal and specifying the types of opportunities that you are interested in, to receive alerts relevant to your business area.

The process of registering with either Contracts Finder, East Midlands Tenders or Find a Tender does not make you a public sector supplier. In order to become a public sector supplier, you must first respond to a tender opportunity and then be awarded a contract.
