Support for parent carers

Caring for a child with a disability or long-term illness life can be incredibly demanding. Many parent carers spend so much time looking after their children that they don’t have time to think about their own emotional or physical health.

Support in Rutland includes help from the local GP practices - make sure you tell your GP practice that you are a parent carer, so they can provide you with extra support in some situations.

There is also help for carers from Rutland County Council, local community groups and national organisations. Read the summary of support available

You can also book a consultation with the Early Support Care Coordinator (ESCO) or you can pop into the Rutland Family Hub for a chat.
