Hello, here is a brief outline about myself. South African born and bred but of English and Scots descent. I am a mother of 4 and grandmother of 2. Since arriving in England in 2009 I have been in the care industry mostly doing live in care for an award winning Suffolk agency, then in various agencies doing day to day care and also in care homes as bank chef, kitchen assistant, front of house and hostess.
Lots of experience and a great deal of fun and a few heartaches along the way. I only stopped doing live in care as I was doing mostly palliative care and the inevitable losses began to tell on me.
I have settled in beautiful Rutland with my husband who works on a large shooting estate as estate carpenter amongst other things. My hobbies are mostly sedentary these days with knitting, crochet, sewing, weaving apart from my passion for landscape and field photography which requires some serious walking. While based in Devon for 6 years I fell in love with Dartmoor and had many many long walks over the moors, and we go there on holiday once a year to get my dose of Dartmoor scenery.

Other information
There have been so many courses over the years as each company requires you to complete their own training modules. The most intensive and thorough has been that from Christies Care in Suffolk, extensively tested and it required a high pass mark.
The most recent has been as hostess and kitchen assistant in a care home locally. I like to think I'm a mature, confident and capable person.
