Health and emotional wellbeing services

The Rutland Offer is a list of local services that offer support in children and young people's health and wellbeing.

The Professionals Directory explains the emotional, mental health and wellbeing services that are available across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and how to access them.

The proposal for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) to deliver Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in schools from November 2021 has been approved. The NHS Mental Health Support Teams in schools are intended to provide early intervention for issues such as mild to moderate anxiety, preventing these conditions from getting worse and thereby reducing pressure on acute NHS mental health services.

Safeguarding Children partners for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland have worked together to develop guidance to support good practice from all practitioners when working with young people where self-harm and suicide are concerns.  It does not replace the need to seek specialist support and advice but does encourage open conversations with young people and provides some examples of questions that can assist a better understanding of the young person’s needs.
