Mobility Trust is a national charity that provide powered wheelchairs and scooters to individuals with reduced mobility who are not able to obtain such equipment through statutory sources or afford to buy one themselves.
Mobility Trust do not provide grants, instead we organise a professional assessment, fundraise for the prescribed equipment and organise the ordering and delivery of the equipment.
We feel it is essential that everyone be given the chance to attain their own potential for independence through mobility. We are the only charity providing such broad support, regardless of age or cause of disability. We give direct help to disabled people, covering a variety of disabling diseases that we have all heard of and many more obscure but devastating ones.

2. Send an email to; mobility@mobilitytrust.org.uk
3. Call on 01189 842588 to speak with a member of the team.
Please explain why you need this equipment, giving details of any disabilities you have and the cause of them.
We will also need to know the following information so that we can see whether or not we can help you:
- Do you receive DLA (PIP) for mobility? If you receive the high rate and do not use it towards a car or other mobility equipment, we normally suggest you use this allowance to obtain a powered wheelchair or scooter through the government-sponsored Motability We will however look at each case individually and may make exceptions to this.
- One other criteria relates to storage of the equipment. We can only provide mobility equipment if there is suitable storage, i.e. accessible, fully enclosed (roofed and walled), weatherproof, lockable and with power for charging. Please do let us know whether you have suitable scooter/powered wheelchair storage.
