The Medical Needs Policy is there to support children who can’t attend school full time because of a medical need. This can be a physical need or a mental health need. The policy is there to support children who have been absent from school, because of this need, for 15 days or are likely to be absent for 15 days. The local authority will then arrange education until a return to full time education is possible.
