Callconnect

What is Callconnect?

Callconnect is an on-demand bus service serving towns and villages throughout Rutland with a flexible booking system allowing passengers to connect to their local communities, services and other transport options.

Our ‘book a bus’ service works on passenger journey requests that then form a schedule giving you the benefit of travelling when it suits you the most.

In addition to our bookable service, we also offer a range of traditional timetabled services, complementing the bus network.

Book via the app

The Callconnect app is the convenient way to book your on-demand bus travel. It's free, easy to use and quicker than booking by phone. Simply download the app, register your account, select your pick up and drop off points and let the app do the rest.

Frequently asked questions

Where will I be picked up from?

Callconnect use designated bus stops, as well as some alternative locations. When you register, we will find your closest pick up point to you and this will be where we pick you up from.

What if my bus doesn’t turn up?

When you have a journey booked at a particular time, the bus is not classed as 'late' until at least 10 minutes after that specified time. If after 10 minutes your bus still hasn't arrived, you can call our same day team in the office who are then able to contact the driver and see where you bus is and how long it will be. We ask that all our passengers arrive at their pickup point a few minutes before their booking time.

If you have booked your ride by app, you can track your bus up to 30 minutes before its arrival. SMS text messaging will provide updates for your bus service and will let you know an estimated time of arrival.

Can I just jump on a Callconnect bus?

Callconnect is a demand responsive bus service, meaning we can only do journeys that are booked via app or by phone. Bookings require a minimum of one hour’s notice.

Can I use Callconnect if I’m not a Rutland resident?

Yes you can. If you do not live in Rutland and are just visiting, you can use our service.

Can I take a pushchair on the bus?

Subject to space being available and the discretion of the driver, we will carry small prams and unfolded buggies on low floor buses but passengers must advise the booking office of this when making their booking request. Prams and buggies must not block the aisle of the vehicle at any time.

How do I cancel my journey?

You can cancel through the app up to 30 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time or alternatively you can call the booking centre on 0345 234 3344.

When do I receive my pickup time?

At the time of booking you will initially be given a 20 minute pick up window. Approximately 30 minutes before your trip you will receive a SMS text message from us providing a more accurate collection time.

You can also track your vehicle on the app and be updated on any unforeseen delays.

Make sure you’re at the pick-up place when the Callconnect bus arrives. You will get a text when the bus is two minutes away and again when it arrives. If you’re late unfortunately the vehicle will leave without you.

Can I use my concessionary bus pass with Callconnect?

Yes! If you can travel by bus for free, your Callconnect rides are also free.

How much does a ride cost and how do I pay?

All Callconnect journeys are free until 28 June 2025.

Can I use Callconnect with a wheelchair?

Yes, Callconnect supports users who require a wheelchair. When booking through the app please indicate that you require a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) by tapping the wheelchair toggle in the profile section of the app. If booking through our booking centre please notify the advisor that you require a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
