Blue Badge misuse or fraud

Blue Badge misuse is a serious offence and can be considered as fraud, in some cases. If you're not sure when or where you can use your badge, email bluebadges@rutland.gov.uk for advice.

We're committed to taking action against Blue Badge misuse and fraud, and will prosecute offenders in serious cases.

You badge can be taken away if you misuse it, or let other people misuse it.

It's a criminal offence to display a Blue Badge if the holder is not in the vehicle, or the vehicle isn't being used to pick up or drop them off.

It's also a criminal offence for non-disabled people to use a badge - if you do, you could face a fine of up to £1,000.
