The adopted Local Plan

The adopted Local Plan sets out our planning policies for Rutland up to 2026

The adopted Local Plan is made up of three development plan documents (DPD):  

  • Core Strategy DPD
  • Site Allocations and Policies DPD
  • Minerals Core Strategy and Development Control Policies DPD

Core strategy DPDs

Sets out the vision, objectives, spatial strategy and our planning policies for Rutland.  

It was found to be sound after public examination in March 2011. We adopted the document on 11 July 2011.

Site allocations and policies DPDs

Allocates sites and sets out our planning policies for Rutland.

It was found to be sound after public examination in November 2013. We adopted the document on 13 October 2014.

Minerals core strategy and development control policies DPDs

Sets out planning polices for minerals related development in Rutland.

It was found to be sound after public examination in April 2010. We adopted the document on 11 October 2010. 

Withdrawal of the Rutland Local Plan 2018-2036

In accordance with Regulation 27 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 as amended, we've withdrawn the Rutland Local Plan 2018 to 2036 that had been submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination on 3 February 2020.
