Dangerous structures and demolitions

Find out how to report a potentially dangerous structure or give us notice of a building demolition

If you believe a structure could be dangerous, please let us know as soon as possible.

You can report dangerous structures 24 hours a day, 356 days year.

A structure could be dangerous for many reasons, including:

  • age
  • deterioration
  • storms
  • explosions
  • fire

If the structure is dangerous, we'll contact the owner and ask them to arrange the structure's repair or removal. We may need to fence off the surrounding area until the structure is safe.

If the structure's dangerous and we cannot contact the owner straight away, we'll try to make the situation safe as soon as possible. Any costs are recoverable from the property owner.
