This is a subscription service to have your garden waste green bin collected.
The subscription for 2021/22 costs £40 for each green bin you'd like to have collected, or £30 if you are in receipt of Council Tax support.
No other concessions are available.
The service year runs from 1 April 21 until 31 March 2022.
To guarantee your bin sticker will arrive before the start of the service year, you need to subscribe before 14 March 2021. You can still sign up to the green waste collection service midway through the year – but the full annual cost will still apply.
COVID-19 restrictions mean that our offices are currently closed, so subscriptions can only be made online or via phone on 01572 758488.
We're unable to accept cash at this time - if you can only pay be cheque (which means it may take longer to process your application) send your cheque to:
Finance Department (GW), Rutland County Council, Catmose, Oakham, Rutland LE15 6HP.
The cheque must be payable to Rutland County Council - write your name, address and green waste reference on the back.
Your green waste collection service
From 1 April 2021 you will need a new green waste subscription sticker to have your green bin to be emptied.
If you subscribe before 14 March 2021, you will receive your sticker(s) by 1 April 2021.
If you subscribe after 14 March 2021, allow a minimum of 10 working days for your sticker to be printed and sent out for your first scheduled collection.
Green bin stickers
Once you've subscribed, we'll send you a new sticker to display on your bin.
Your sticker(s) will be sent in the post and cannot be collected from our offices.
Green bins that don't display the new 2021 sticker won't be collected after 31 March 2021.
Once you’ve received your sicker(s):
- place each sticker on the back of each green bin, just below the handles, as shown in our guide - make sure the bin is dry and clean and remove any old stickers if necessary
- place each green bin at the edge of your property with the handles facing the road by 7am on collection days
We advise you to read our terms and conditions before you sign up for green waste collections
If you don't want to renew your green waste subscription, your green bin will not be emptied after 31 March 2021.
Alternative options for disposing of green waste include home composting, or taking your waste to our household waste and recycling centres.
