12 Days of Festive Waste

Waste banner.jpg

The festive period is Rutland’s peak time for generating waste. During the rest of the year, residents produce around 850 tonnes of waste a month, however, over the festive period last year this increased to 996 tonnes a month.

This year, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to reduce your waste and increase recycling through this simple guide.

Reducing your festive waste:

The Love Food Hate Waste website has some great information and recipes to help you use up leftover food and reduce food waste over the festive period

Place all recycling in the grey bin loose, it doesn’t need to go in a bag.

Over the festive period you will be provided with special blue (recycling) and pink (general waste) bags to help you if you have overfilled your bins.

You can also order another free recycling bin if you need another one.
