School and childcare settings may need to close at short notice in emergency situations - bad weather or broken heating, for example.
The headteacher, governing body or setting manager are responsible for making the decision to close.
It is the school or early years provider's responsibility to let you know if your child's school or early education and childcare setting need to close.
We'll publish information on this page if schools and settings tell us they will be closed.
