Finalising the Submission Draft Plan (Regulation 19)

Find out what happens at the Regulation 19 stage of developing the Local Plan

At this stage, we will consult on the final Draft Local Plan that we want to submit to the Government.

Issues and Options and the Preferred Options (Regulation 18) stages look long and hard at the key issues facing Rutland and decide how best to address these issues through the Local Plan.

As the Plan will have gone through these earlier steps, the Final Submission Draft (Regulation 19) will not ask for views on alternative options. It's a final chance to comment specifically on whether the Plan is legally compliant and 'sound'. To be sound, the Local Plan must be:

  • positively prepared
  • justified
  • effective
  • consistent with national planning policy

We expect this stage to take place in autumn 2024.
