Ofsted Improvement Plan

We are working in partnership with all our agencies to further improve the services we provide to children, young people and families.

This is being done to give them the best start in life and to ensure our children, young people and families access the right support at the right time to achieve the right outcome.

Our 'Next Steps' Action Plan has been developed in response to our recent Ofsted Inspection, which judged us as ‘Requiring Improvement’ and made a number of recommendations that need to be met so that we can reach ‘good’.

The Single Inspection Framework (SIF) considered:

  1. Children in need of help and protection
  2. Children looked after and achieving permanence (both adoption performance and experience and progress of our care leavers
  3. Leadership, management and governance
  4. Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB)

Rutland County Council was judged as Good for our Care Leaver Services and for our LSCB, which we share with Leicestershire.

This Next Steps Action Plan has been structured to respond to the recommendations made in the inspection report which can be found on the Ofsted websiteThis plan does not cover the work of the LSCB.
