Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)

How we handle allegations made against adults who work with children and young people

You should contact our Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) if you're worried that a professional or volunteer who works with children has:

  • behaved in a way that has harmed (or may have harmed) a child
  • possibly committed a criminal offence related to or against a child
  • behaved in a way that indicates they may post a risk to children
  • behaved (or may have behaved) in way that indicates they may not be suitable to work with children
