Fees and Charges 2019

The following charges apply to Oakham Cemetery from 1 April 2019 and will be revised from 1 April 2020.

Interment Charges

Please note: Charges for burial, cremation (except reservation of cremation plot) and associated fees shall be doubled for the burial of a deceased person not resident within the County of Rutland at the time of his/her death, unless the deceased person has been a Rutland resident for the majority of his/her life and the reason for his/her absence from the County of Rutland is due to:

  • The admission of that person in a nursing home outside the County of Rutland, or
  • Being cared for by relatives outside the County of Rutland, but having still retained during that period of absence strong family ties within the County of Rutland, e.g. having a close relative buried within the County of Rutland.

In this section, the term 'interment fee' shall include an amount for the preparation of the grave and an administrative charge. For those Parish Councils which do not assume responsibility for the preparation of the grave, and therefore have no costs to recover in that respect, a separate administrative fee has been set in each instance. For the interment:

  • of the body of a stillborn child or child whose age at death did not exceed one year – no charge
  • of the body of a child under the age of eighteen years – no charge
  • of the body of a person whose age at death exceeded seventeen years – £ 902.00
  • additional charge for interment at a depth exceeding five (5) feet £129.00
  • of the interment of cremated remains £314.00

Exclusive Rights of Burial in Earthen Graves

For the purpose of these provisions, the term 'child' shall mean a person under the age of eighteen years.

  •  Single grave up to five (5) feet in depth £2,085.00
