Citizenship

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Advice and Guidance

During the coronavirus pandemic, Citizenship Ceremonies cannot be performed.

Ceremonies will resume once social distancing requirements have been relaxed.  Please read the information below for details of the process once normal service resumes.

Bookings cannot be made at the present time.

The citizenship ceremony marks the end of a long journey for people from many parts of the world.  It is both a celebration of your new status as a British citizen and a warm welcome from your local community.

When the Home Office approves your application for British citizenship, they will invite you to contact us to arrange your ceremony. The ceremony date must be within three months of the Home Office approval date.

New citizens who are less than 18 years old do not have to come to a ceremony as their certificates can be collected by their parents, although they are welcome to attend if they would like to.

To arrange a Citizenship Ceremony in Rutland, call 01572 758 370 or email us.

Visit GOV.uk for further information about the Life in the UK test and how to Become a British citizen.
