Temporary One-Way for Oakham High Street

From 27th March 2017, Western Power will be installing a one-way traffic management system to facilitate the swift completion of electricity supply works along the High Street and Market Place in Oakham.

Traffic is currently controlled by temporary traffic lights.  The one-way system is requested by Rutland County Council as an opportunity to trial the effect of one of the options for public realm improvements, planned for 2018.

The one-way system will operate from the junction of Church Street, to the roundabout at the junction of Mill Street/Catmose Street/Burley Road, and will be in operation, 24 hours a day, from 27th March until the 21st April, with traffic allowed to travel from Church Street towards the Market Place only.

Temporary parking will be installed to the north side of High Street.

The sign-posted diversion will be via Burley Road, Burley Park Way, Lands End Way and Barleythorpe Road.  All other local roads will be open as usual.
