Business Summit 2018

Rutland County Council has announced the date of its 2020 Spring Business Summit, inviting businesses and stakeholders to discuss the future of Rutland’s local economy.

This free event takes place at Rutland Showground, near Oakham, from 8.00am to 12.00pm on Wednesday 4 March.

The Summit will include a session to look at how the UK’s departure from the European Union stands to affect local businesses, as well as providing delegates with information and practical advice.

Guest speaker Richard Olsen, Senior Business Advisor at Brexit4Business, will be on hand to help businesses grasp important changes to legislation and the regulatory landscape after Brexit.

Key topics will cover business continuity, the importing and exporting of goods to and from the EU and international markets, as well as the EU Settlement Scheme, for those individuals and employers concerned about how this will impact them.

Business representatives will also be asked to contribute to discussions about what Rutland’s local economy should look like in future and help shape the Council’s five-year economic plan.

There will also be networking opportunities, offering delegates the chance to discuss the main issues and topics affecting their businesses.

“This is a pivotal and potentially very challenging time for all local businesses. We want to help businesses with the information they need to adjust to life after Brexit, as well as getting their views on the future of Rutland’s local economy. We’re pleased to welcome Richard Olsen from Brexit4Business as our guest speaker at this event. Brexit4Business is an advisory facility set up to support the business community within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority area, and we look forward to hearing his advice.”
Councillor Oliver Hemsley, Leader of Rutland County Council
