Rutland Community Radio Project to recruit advisory board

Date Published: 16 October 2020

The Rutland Community Radio Project is seeking volunteers to become members of its Project Advisory Board.

Acting in an advisory capacity, the Project Advisory Board will steer the project and work with the Project Manager to bring the new community radio station to fruition.

It is anticipated that the Advisory Board will be made up of a maximum of eight members of Rutland and Stamford communities who will provide a range of skills, from business planning, accountancy, radio production and advertising.

“These appointments will play a crucial role in guiding the development of the new community radio station and I hope they will provide essential knowledge and skills to help get the new station off the ground. We’re looking for people from the Rutland and Stamford area who have links with the community, understand business, and can be impartial and make decisions based on proposals presented to them. We are also looking for people who understand commercial and community funding models.”
Rob Persani, Project Manager for the Rutland Community Radio Project

Recruitment of Listeners

In November, the Rutland Community Radio Project will be recruiting volunteers for its Advisory Board and is seeking two former listeners of Rutland Radio to sit on the recruitment panel.

The listeners will work with Rutland County Council’s Interim Chief Executive, Mark Andrews, and the Community Radio Project Manager, Rob Persani, to select and interview prospective candidates.

The listener panel members must be available on 4 November for the interviews and for a virtual meeting in advance. They must also be able to dedicate time to reviewing applications.

Previous experience of being on a board and/or board recruitment is desirable, but not essential.

To apply, please email: radio@rutland.gov.uk  with your details and in less than 100 words tell us what criteria you’d use in selecting people to help guide this exciting new project.

Closing date for listener entries to help the Advisory Board selection process is 23 October 2020.
