Residents who want to share their views on the County’s Local Plan are being reminded to do so through the Council’s official Local Plan Review consultation.
Public consultation on specific aspects of Rutland’s latest Draft Local Plan runs until 24 September, with people asked to comment on a series of focussed changes to the Local Plan which consider the development potential of St George’s Barracks.
There is also the chance to comment on a number of additional sites put forward for possible development by landowners and developers since the Consultation Draft Rutland Local Plan was last published in July 2017.
“We want to make sure that everyone with an interest in the Local Plan can share their views and help shape the outcome of the latest Local Plan Review. We know of several different community-led surveys which are also asking people to give their views on the Local Plan and St George’s. It is entirely understandable that communities with a keen interest in the future of St George’s Barracks will want to obtain residents’ views on key issues and it is important they feel able to do this. However, we are concerned that people responding to various unofficial surveys may think they’ve taken part in the Local Plan Review when they have not. The Local Plan Review asks some specific questions to which we are seeking feedback. We feel it’s important to remind residents that completing the official Local Plan survey or emailing your views to email@example.com is the way to be certain that your feedback is used to help shape the Local Plan.”
Councillor Gordon Brown, Portfolio Holder for Planning
We are consulting on the Local Plan until 4.45pm on 24 September 2018.
