We're inviting local carers to attend our annual Carers Rights Day event at Oakham Castle from 10am to 1pm on Friday 30th November.
This is a free drop-in event to provide support for local carers and help them to understand their rights.
Carers Rights Day is an opportunity to speak to a range of health and social care professionals and meet local voluntary organisations which can support you to care for your future needs.
Massages, mini manicures and art therapy will also be available at the event, which is being supported by Age UK, Dementia UK, Carers UK and the Rutland Community Wellbeing Service.
“Most community healthcare takes place at home, which is why the role of carer is so important. However, becoming a carer is often unplanned, so having the right information at the right time can make all the difference. At this event, we want to help carers plan for the future by making them aware of their rights and letting them know where they can get support should they need help or advice. If you’re a local carer, I’d encourage you to come along to the event and find out more.”
Councillor Alan Walters, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care and Health
