A new exhibition celebrating students and staff from the Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service (RALSS) is due to open at Rutland County Museum on Friday 15th September.
Students taking art classes at the RALSS adult learning centre at Oakham Enterprise Park have created a range of pieces that will be on show to members of the public until Wednesday 4th October.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a display of ceramics, sculptures, watercolour paintings, drawings and mixed media pieces artwork.
The classes, taught by Linda Crossley and Deborah Bird, aim to inspire students to explore their creativity and expand their horizons. Students are taught techniques and styles used by other artists to help them create their art.
“This is a great opportunity to come along and see some really impressive pieces of work produced by our extremely talented RALSS students. RALSS offers a wide range of classes in art and crafts and languages, as well as more formal qualifications in subjects like English, maths, accounting and ICT. The service also offers help with employment and a route into apprenticeships, all of which is useful for students who have just completed GCSEs and A-Levels and are unsure of what to do next.”Councillor David Wilby, Portfolio Holder for Lifelong Learning
The RALSS art and ceramics exhibition is free to visitors and will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10am-4pm.
