Businesses in Rutland are being encouraged to apply for the most prestigious business awards in the UK – the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

Established in 1966, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise celebrates successful businesses across the UK and recognises their outstanding achievements.

Businesses across the county, including non-profit organisations, are invited to submit an entry for one or more of the following categories:

  • International Trade
  • Innovation
  • Sustainable Development
  • Promoting Opportunity (through Social Mobility)

Over 6,000 companies have been awarded a Queen’s Award and have seen increased sales, greater press coverage and a boost in staff morale as a result.

In fact, 73% of winners in the International Trade category directly attributed increased sales to winning a Queen’s Award.

“Rutland is full of thriving businesses who have worked hard to implement exciting, innovative and sustainable practices. These awards are a good opportunity for companies to showcase their success and receive recognition for their work. I would like to encourage companies from across the county to take advantage of this opportunity.”
Councillor Oliver Hemsley, Portfolio Holder for Growth, Trading Services and Resources

Receiving a Queen’s Award offers multiple benefits and successful businesses will be able to use the globally recognised emblem on advertisements and goods. Winners will also receive an invitation to a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate their achievement.

Almost all UK businesses can apply for the awards. Applications are free and must be submitted by midday on Friday 1st September. To apply, please visit the Queen's Award for Enterprise website
