Changes to the Service 19 Bus

Date Published: 05 July 2017

The Council has been in contact with local bus operator Centrebus regarding proposed changes to the Service 19 in Rutland.

This follows a decision by Centrebus to withdraw part of the Service 19 in order to reduce its running costs, affecting people who want to travel between Oakham and Stamford.

Centrebus have combined the Melton to Oakham Service with the Rutland Flyer 1 (RF1), which continues through to Corby. We have been awaiting confirmation of their intentions for the section between Oakham and Stamford, which were received yesterday (Tuesday 4th July).

We now understand that Centrebus intend to continue with the Service 19 but remove the early and late journeys from Monday to Friday, along with all Saturday services.

As a result, we understand that the earliest arrival in Oakham from Stamford would be 8.50am and the latest departure from Oakham to Stamford will be 4.05pm.

The earliest arrival in Stamford from Oakham would be 8.12am and the latest departure from Stamford to Oakham would be 4.55pm.

We are currently reviewing passenger numbers for the Service 19 in order to fully understand the impact of these changes and what other options might be available for passengers. The changes are expected to take effect in August.

If anyone has any comments regarding these changes that might assist us, please email: transport@rutland.gov.uk
