Inspect the Register of Electors

You can book an appointment to view the Electoral Register at the Council offices.

If you want to view the register, you must follow the rules:

  • you can only inspect the register under supervision
  • you can record extracts of the register by making hand written notes - you cannot photocopy or electronically record the record as this is illegal
  • you cannot use any information you take from the register for direct marketing, unless the information's been published in the edited version of the register

If you do not follow these rules, you will be committing a criminal offence. The penalty is a fine of up to £5,000.
