Data Retention

 Rutland County Council will only keep your information for the minimum period necessary. After this time, information is deleted / destroyed in accordance with Council policy.

   We’ll ensure that the information collected and stored is:

  •  as little as we need to do the job
  • accurate and up-to-date
  • only used for the purpose intended
  • only kept as long as we have to

Our current Document Retention and Records Disposal Policy can be downloaded from this page. This forms part of our Information Asset Register which we are required to have as part of our General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)/ Data Protection 2018 compliance documentation.

From this page you can also view our Document Retention Schedule. This provides information on how long we will keep specific documents held by the Council.
