Temporary traffic measures removed in Oakham

Date Published: 07 January 2021
Oakham Market Place

Temporary traffic measures applied to Oakham Market Place in July of last year are to be removed.

The introduction of a temporary one way system, together with changes to parking bays, was requested by Oakham Town Council and the independent community group 4Oakham.

The change was made in response to COVID-19, as part of efforts to support outdoor food retail and increase the size of pedestrian areas.

Oakham Town Council and 4Oakham have submitted a further request to Rutland County Council for these temporary measures to be lifted. As a result, two-way traffic flow will be reinstated in Oakham Market Place and normal parking arrangements restored on Monday 11 January.
