Service 747 Bus

Date Published: 15 November 2018
Emergency funding for 747 bus service

We are aware that attendees at The 747 Bus Users Group Meeting held last night (14th November 2018) in Houghton on the Hill, may have been provided with some misleading information.

Which the Council wishes to clarify:

  • Rutland County Council and Leicestershire County Council have worked together to protect the Service 747 bus route until June 2019, and this point the service will be reviewed.
  • Rutland County Council is currently in the process of reviewing concessionary fare reimbursement rates as part of the Council’s commitment to achieving best value for residents.
  • The reimbursement rate will not be amended before June 2019.

We are currently consulting on our fourth Local Transport Plan: Moving Rutland Forward. Part of this report is its new passenger transport strategy, which will inform future decision making.

We would encourage all residents to provide their views as part of this consultation, which runs until 11th January 2019.

Further information can be found on our dedicated Local Transport Plan page.
