Ahead of this year’s National Offer Day for secondary school admissions [1 March 2022], Rutland County Council processed 333 applications for Rutland resident children, with 331 receiving the offer of a place from one of their preferred secondary schools.
This means that 99 per cent of children in Rutland, who are due to start secondary school in September 2022, have been offered places at either their first, second or third preference school. This is an increase on last year’s figure of 97 per cent and remains higher than the national average.
The remaining one per cent will go forward to a second offer round which takes place from 28 March.
In total, 96 per cent of Rutland children received an offer at their first preference school this year – significantly higher than the national average of 81.1 percent for admissions in September 2021.
