Rutland libraries are offering free access to some of the UK’s most popular magazines through a new online service.
RBdigital provides readers with access to full-colour digital magazines on their computer or through an app.
With this service, members of Rutland Libraries can read both the latest issues and a range of back issues with no fees and no limits to the number of magazines they can downloaded.
As a result, Rutland Library Service members can access more than 130 magazine titles, including BBC Good Food Magazine, Amateur Gardening, The Economist, Men’s Fitness, Empire, Top Gear and GQ. All you need is your library card.
Oakham Library will be holding a free ‘Mags & Mugs’ coffee morning between 9.30am and 11.30am on Tuesday 23rd July, giving people a chance to try the new service on their own devices or on one of several library tablets.
“This is just the latest in a long line of fantastic services that people in Rutland can access through our outstanding network of local libraries. Much like our eBooks service, we think eMagazines will be very popular among library members. You really are spoiled for choice in terms of what you can read. It’s completely free and easy to use – you simply need to be a registered member at your local library.”
Councillor Lucy Stephenson, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure
