Rutland County Council and Biffa apologise to residents affected by bin collection disruption following severe weather and mechanical problems affecting refuse vehicles.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the disruption to bin collections due to the severe weather conditions and mechanical problems with refuse vehicles, which meant a number of them were out of action.
Additional vehicles have now been hired. We are extremely grateful to residents for their understand and patience during this time. We take the reliability of our services very seriously and a vehicle replacement and refurbishment programme is being rolled out”

Biffa spokesperson

"I would like to thank people across Rutland for their patience and support during these exceptional circumstances. Bin collection crews have worked hard to catch-up and collect any outstanding bins, working Saturdays and using any spare capacity to return to missed customers ”
Councillor Lucy Stephenson, Portfolio holder for Environment at Rutland County Council
