Last Chance to Register to Vote in Time For Local Elections

Anyone not registered to vote has until Friday 12 April 2019 to sign up if they want take part in May’s local elections.

Elections for Rutland County Council, together with local town and parish councils, are due to take place on Thursday 2 May 2019.

You must be registered to vote in order to take part in the elections. Registration is quick and easy and can be done online by visiting the national Register to Vote website.

If you are unsure about whether or not you are registered to vote, you can check by emailing: elections@rutland.gov.uk.

For people who are already registered to vote, the deadline for submitting new applications to vote by post and postal proxy, and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes, is Monday 15 April 2019. 

The deadline for receiving new applications to vote by proxy (not postal proxy or emergency proxies) is Wednesday 24 April 2019.
