Children and young people in Rutland who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals can now book places on a range of free holiday activities over the school summer break, through the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF).
The Government-backed scheme for primary and secondary aged pupils will enable children and young people to have fun with friends, and learn and develop new skills through enriching activities such as sport, dance, cooking, wild camps, yoga, first aid courses and activities at Tallington.
“We are delighted to announce our packed activities programme for summer this year. The importance of an enriching holiday experience for children cannot be underestimated. Rutland’s HAF programme will benefit children who are eligible for free school meals, parents and our communities by enabling children to learn new skills, socialise with friends, and enjoy nutritious food in a safe environment.”Councillor David Wilby, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services and Education at Rutland County Council
Parents and carers who think their child may benefit from attending the free holiday activities should visit www.rutland.gov.uk/bookaplace for information on how to apply.
