Secondary school pupils in Rutland are being reminded to return their applications for school transport before this year’s deadline of 14 August.
Following a change to Rutland’s school transport system, students using school transport services are being given durable, credit card-style ‘home to school’ travel passes to make bus use easier.
All students are required to hold a valid pass, complete with passport-style photo, and must return the relevant application paperwork before Wednesday 14 August 2018. Any not received by this date risk not having a bus pass issued for the start of term.
Anyone who needs a travel pass for the new academic year and is yet to return their paperwork and photo must send this in to the council’s Travel Office as soon as possible.
How to return your application
- complete a home to school travel slip for each student requiring a travel pass, attach the photo securely and post or deliver to the Council offices for the attention of the Transport Office, ensuring you write the student’s name clearly on the reverse of the photo
- email a copy of the passport photo to email@example.com. The Transport Office will be receiving hundreds of photos for travel passes, so it’s important that students’ names are clearly shown in the subject line of your email
Anyone who needs help with the application process can contact our Transport Office by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org or calling: 01572 720 939.
If you have a child just starting school or moving schools, and you need to provide an X78 form for free transport, please follow the instructions in the council’s home to school transport guide, affix the photo to the application form and submit as indicated.
All school transport information, including photos, are held securely by the council and used solely for the purpose of issuing new and replacement passes.
Further information on school and college transport can also be found on our Transport pages.
