Councillors approve permanent strategic director appointments

Rutland County Council

Rutland County Councillors have approved the permanent appointments of two Strategic Directors for the authority’s People Directorate.

The meeting of the Full Council on Monday 5 July voted to appoint John Morley to the position of Strategic Director for Adults and Health, and Dawn Godfrey to the position of Strategic Director for Children and Families. These recommendations were made to the Council by its Chief Officer Appointment Committee, following an internal recruitment process and interviews held in June.

“Rutland’s social care services provide care and support for some of the county’s most vulnerable adults and children. People rely on these services, and never more so than during the COVID-19 pandemic. The experience and leadership that John and Dawn have brought to bear during this period has been critical to the exceptional way these services have performed, under the most challenging of conditions, and I am delighted that they will continue in these roles on a permanent basis.” Councillor Oliver Hemsley, Leader of Rutland County Council

The agenda and reports for Full Council on Monday 5 July 2021 can be viewed online at: www.rutland.gov.uk/meetings. Minutes from the meeting will be published within seven days of the meeting date.
