Council Leader Oliver Hemsley has issued the following statement in response to the latest government announcement regarding COVID-19 restrictions:
Council Leader Oliver Hemsley
The government has provided an outline of its roadmap for exiting the current COVID-19 lockdown. Following yesterday’s announcement, we are now waiting for further details and the release of official government guidelines that will support this.
The vast majority of Rutland County Council staff are working from home and will continue to do so in order to maintain essential services and protect our residents from COVID-19.
Social distancing remains just as important as ever. Rutland’s visitor attractions, such as Rutland Water, remain closed until further notice and it is critical that we maintain responsible social distancing whenever we leave our homes.
