An extensive programme of resurfacing works to improve car parks in Oakham has been completed on time.
The phased schedule of engineering works took place between July and August, with a series of temporary closures put in place so that surface repairs could be carried out quickly and safely.
South Street, Brooke Road, Catmose, and Westgate car parks underwent repair one after another over a period of five weeks and Rutland County Council has thanked residents for their patience while the work was carried out.
“Engineers have worked hard to get the resurfacing done quickly, on time and with as little disruption as possible for drivers. The work was essential and had to be carried out in the summer because it’s reliant on good weather. I’m sure that car park users will have noticed the improvement and I’d like to thank drivers for their patience while the work was ongoing.” Councillor Lucy Stephenson, Portfolio Holder for Highways
