Armed Forces Day

We encourage support for the Armed Forces and celebrate our national Armed Forces Day and Reserves Day each year.

Armed Forces Week

Armed Forces Week starts on Monday 21 June 2021 and continues through to Armed Forces Day on Saturday 26 June, including Reserves Day on Wednesday 23 June.

This is a special week of events and activities held up and down the country, where we can show our appreciation and support of the Armed Forces community.

Be a part of Armed Forces Week

Celebrations and events are taking place across the UK to celebrate our Armed Forces, past, present and future.

The national Armed Forces Day website has lots of information about how schools, businesses and families can join in events locally and across the UK.

Rutland Flag Raising

Rutland County Council will be organising an Armed Forces Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday 21 June at Oakham Castle.

Further details to be confirmed, any activities planned will be subject Covid-19 restrictions.

Back our Reservists

Reservists give up their spare time to serve in the Reserve Forces, balancing their civilian life with a military career to ensure that should their country require them, they would be ready to serve as part of the military.

Employers are being asked to thank our Reservists across the UK for their dedication, professionalism and commitment to serving our country.

Whether you're a large organisation, a small business, a charity or self-employed, show your support on 23 June by holding a workplace event to celebrate Reserves Day.

Reserves Day toolkits for businesses can be downloaded from the national Reserves Day website.
