Requesting A New Street Light
Parish and town councils have an important role to protect the visual character of their villages and towns. As representatives of the local community, they provide a key communication link between residents and the county council. Therefore, all new street light requests will first need to go through to the parish and town council. This is so they are able to indicate if they are in support of the new request.
Please fill in the application form to request a new street light.
LED street lighting is designed to direct light downwards on to the road, reducing light pollution into properties. It also produces less carbon than conventional street lighting.
Street Lighting for New Developments
A developer can enter into a Section 38 Agreement to offer the roads within their development for adoption; during the process the Council can work with the developer on an appropriate street light design for their development.
