Power cuts

During a power cut many people make the mistake of calling their electricity supplier that they pay their bill to rather than calling their electricity network provider.

Rutland County Council is backing a free easy to remember number which solves the issue of who to call and provides residents with information of the power cut as well as a direct transfer to the people who will repair the local power network and restore the lost power.

105 is available to electricity customers in England, Scotland and Wales. The number can be accessed from most landlines and mobile phones. It doesn’t matter who you choose to buy electricity from - anyone can call 105.

You can also call 105 if you spot damage to electricity power lines and substations that could put you, or someone else, in danger. If there’s a serious immediate risk, the emergency services should be called too.

Visit the Power Cut 105 website to find out more about 105 and electricity network operators.
