The County benefits from good transport connectivity served by the Rail links to Stansted and Birmingham and easy connections to the A1, A47 and the A606.
Around 95% of the county now has access to Superfast Broadband since receiving an upgrade in 2016.
We are part of the Greater Cambridge and Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership area and located in reasonable proximity to the two major growth cities of Cambridge and Peterborough and nearby cities of Nottingham and Leicester providing access to world class universities.
We have over circa 1900 businesses in the County and our manufacturing and service sectors in particular have seen strong growth.
Looking ahead we have significant housing growth planned for Oakham (1100 homes) and Uppingham (250) over the coming years. Alongside this is an aspiration to grow jobs by 300 per annum.
Rutland is often ranked as one of the most popular places to live in the country with low crime rates, high life expectancy, high levels of academic achievement and attainment all in an active and enriched community.
This high quality environment makes is particularly attractive to smaller, niche and high value businesses.
