The council is consulting on its new Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2025 to 2030. The consultation will start on 25 November 2024 and end on 23 December 2024.
What is the Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy?
The proposed vision of the strategy is, “fair access to suitable and sustainable housing for everyone in Rutland, particularly those whose needs are not readily met through the open market.” It is not part of the council’s Local Plan. View the draft strategy via the link below:
Why is it needed?
It provides an evidence base to support funding bids and investment in Rutland’s sustainable growth. It shows how we support vulnerable people, prevent homelessness and help to make the best use of existing housing. The council must by law produce a homelessness strategy at least every five years, which in Rutland’s case is combined into a broader holistic document. This includes the outcomes of the Homelessness Review evidence base document, which is not part of this consultation.
How can I comment on it?
The draft strategy may particularly interest relevant agencies, but it is open to the public to respond if they wish. The preferred method of responding is through our online form:
It is recommended that you read the consultation document before responding.
