Rutland County Council have launched the first public health strategy in Rutland, setting out the authority’s priorities and identifying areas for focus over the period 2024 to 2029.
Public health is about improving and protecting the health and wellbeing of people. This can be on a population or individual level, other times it can be looking at wider factors which impact the health of many such as social, economic or environmental factors.
In setting out the public health strategy, the council’s public health team look to deliver services and support which reduce the causes of ill-health and improve the health and wellbeing of residents.
The strategy acknowledges the good work going on within public health at Rutland County Council, whilst also recognising what can be done to strengthen and build.
Delivering this strategy requires partnership working with the health, care and voluntary sector colleagues. Our vision is to protect and improve the health and quality of life for everyone in Rutland.
