When you've subscribed, you will be sent a sticker to place on your green bin. Please allow 10 working days between subscribing and your first scheduled collection - this is because we'll need to:

  • produce and deliver your sticker
  • provide a new bin, if needed
  • update the in-cab systems

You can sign up midway through the year, but the full annual cost will apply.

If you already have a green waste subscription and want another green bin, we ask that you register for another subscription, but only for the number of additional bins you need. Please remember to choose the option to request a new physical bin(s), as needed.

You can subscribe online or by calling: 01572 758 488.

You cannot pay by cash or bank transfer. If you can only pay be cheque, it will take longer to process your application and may delay your sticker. Cheques must be made payable to Rutland County Council and have your name, address and green waste property reference on the back - send to: Finance Department (GW), Rutland County Council, Catmose, Oakham, Rutland LE15 6HP.

If you don't want to renew your current subscription for the 2024-25 service year, your green bin will not be emptied after 31 March 2024.

Green bin stickers

When you subscribe, we'll send you a green waste sticker through the post. Please allow up to 10 working days between subscribing and your your first scheduled green bin collection.

We can't empty your green bin until it's displaying a valid sticker.

When you get your sticker:

  • place it on the back of your green bin, just below the handle. Make sure your bin is clean and dry and remove any old stickers first
  • press the sticker down firmly to make sure it's well stuck down
  • put your green bin at the edge of your property by 7am on your collection day, with the handle facing towards the road
  • if you have an assisted collection, we will collect your green bin from where it's usually stored and return it to the same place once emptied
