Tree works

Apply to carry out tree works on trees in conservation areas or with a tree preservation order

It's against the law to carry out work on protected trees without our permission.

Protected trees are in conservation areas or covered by a Tree Preservation Order.

There's no maximum limit on fines that can be imposed if you carry out works without consent.

It's also an offence to fell most trees without a felling licence from the Forestry Commission.
